Pai Gow Poker Rules: Procedure of Play Each round starts with the player making a wager. At htis point, the player receives seven cards. The player then arranges his or her seven cards into a five-card hand (high hand) and a two-card hand (low hand). The five-card hand is ranked as in poker, with the exception that an A-2-3-4-5 straight is the second highest straight. The two-card hand will either be a pair or two individual cards. The player's five-card hand must always be of higher rank than the two card hand. After the player has arranged his or her cards and has clicked on the "split" button, the dealer sets his hands according to the "house way". Once the dealer has set his hands, the player's and dealer's five card hands are compared. Likewise, the player's and dealer's two-card hands are compared. In both cases, the highest hand wins. If the player beats the dealer with both hands then the player is paid with even money, less a 5% commission. If the player wins one hand but loses the other, the round is a push. If the player loses both hands he or she loses the entire wager. In the event of an exact match between hands, the tie goes to the dealer. The Joker
